We need to have people see themselves as criminals, not poor misguided souls. Now, we might be able to see them as poor misguided souls...but we can't have them look at themselves that way. ...When your little 3 year old boy tells him exactly what not to do you don't pick him up and go, 'Oh poor baby, you don't understand.' [smack] That will help him understand. That's the law... We have no right to remove what Jesus didn't remove. ... I just wish that everyone saved would look at consider and be that revolted by ALL SIN. Because that's how much of an abomination it is to the Lord. Isn't that true holiness? That when someone uses the Lord's name in vain, just in common tongue, And says Oh my ___... You'd be just as revolted and perturbed?! Isn't that what the Lord wants? People tend to major on the sin of homosexuality, but that's not the only sin! [continue reading]

1 x 1 x 1 = 1 God. The Father is God. The Son is God. The Holy Spirit is God. Yet, though there's 3 Persons, God is only 1 being. We understand from scripture God to be triune. But, how do we understand this, and why is it important?

At a church I once attended, the Pastor stood up and said, 'Because of the church's failure to teach the church doctrine, we have fallen victim to many cults.' This is a very agreeable statement - the apostles in the bible taught doctrine (a word that just means teaching), and Paul instructed Timothy to give his attention to doctrine in 1 Timothy 4:13-16, that we should meditate on the teachings of the bible and immerse ourselves through exhortation, public reading, exercising the things of the Word - a careful attention to doctrine. Lets be people that know what the Lord Jesus Christ taught, that are eager for these things. Address the hard questions of faith - why does God allow suffering? How is God triune? What was accomplished at Calvary when Jesus Christ died on the cross? I tackled the question, Why did Jesus die to set us free from sin, when I was being delivered from sexual immorality by God, and that was a turning point in my life that I remember nearly every day, and God was at work at those times. God opens our ears and causes us to hear His voice and understand scripture. Lets give God our hearts in careful attention to doctrine! [continue reading]
