Friday night & Tarpon Springs

This has been a wonderful fishing season, or planting season, what ever you will. Friday night had some Great surprises in it.

I picked up the 2000 Christmas card-tracts from the Church at 6:00 and waited for some people that may have shown up. Waited until 6:30 then departed. Met with fellow Brothers and Sisters in Pinellas Park. There was 13 of us, 1 bus load.

Gabe, the leader in St. Pete mentioned to me that he had sent 1 card-tract with each of his Christmas cards. ( I had about 100 left over from last Friday and left them with Him) In addition, a friend of his was going Caroling with a dozen others earlier in the week, and had asked him for any "Christmas looking" tracts. So he gave him the rest, and he let Gabe know that most every house they caroled at got a Card. This all happened during the week. [continue reading]

River Lights Parade in New Port Richey

Bay Walk: I pray as I share this report that it will be taken as it is meant. And that is not what I have done but what God has been doing with me. Not what can be done when we surrender to God, but more, what God does do through the Holy Spirit... Amen.

What a week... This Friday night was outstanding in Saint Pete. It was busy at Bay Walk as we set up the Prayer Station. And through the night, there were hundreds of people out. We passed dozens of people on the walk from the parking area to the Bay Walk area, and we handed out dozens of tracts. We had people asking for more of them also. [continue reading]

A Good Pre-Christmas Night

Last night was a good night. It was the last Team Hope Friday night before Christmas and the atmosphere downtown was very festive. We had a bunch of special Christmas card tracts to hand out and people were very receptive to them. I’m sure we put hundreds of them into people’s hands.

Ryan C. and I spent most of the time witnessing to people together and it worked out really well. We had some great conversations. We talked to a couple (Carmile and Jason) they were believers but have not been walking close with God lately. We offered them some encouragement and were able to pray for them. They were looking for a good church to attend and were asking about ours so we gave them the information and pray that they will get plugged-in somewhere. [continue reading]

Longing for the Lord

This is Psalm 63:1-5. Just read:

O God, thou art my God; early will I seek thee: my soul thirsteth for thee, my flesh longeth for thee in a dry and thirsty land, where no water is;
To see thy power and thy glory, so as I have seen thee in the sanctuary.
Because thy lovingkindness is better than life, my lips shall praise thee.
Thus will I bless thee while I live: I will lift up my hands in thy name.
My soul shall be satisfied as with marrow and fatness; and my mouth shall praise thee with joyful lips.

This is what God wants out of the penitent hearts of His children. Do you feel this way? Just read these words from a man the bible calls 'a man after God's own heart.' The bible says this of no one else. Does your heart beat this way? If not, go here: http://www.needGod.com. Then, go here and click on 'Audio' and start listening: http://www.biblecia.com.

Reading the Bible

Do you read your bible, Christian? If you hope to know God in a personal way, daily reading of the bible is crucial. By far the bible is never a tedious chore to read. Just read this passage and see Isaiah's vision of God and experience what he experienced for just a moment:

In the year that King Uzziah died I saw the Lord sitting upon a throne, high and lifted up; and the train of his robe filled the temple. Above him stood the seraphim. Each had six wings: with two he covered his face, and with two he covered his feet, and with two he flew. And one called to another and said:

"Holy, holy, holy is the Lord of hosts;
the whole earth is full of his glory!"

And the foundations of the thresholds shook at the voice of him who called, and the house was filled with smoke. And I said: "Woe is me! For I am lost; for I am a man of unclean lips, and I dwell in the midst of a people of unclean lips; for my eyes have seen the King, the Lord of hosts!"

Then one of the seraphim flew to me, having in his hand a burning coal that he had taken with tongs from the altar. And he touched my mouth and said: "Behold, this has touched your lips; your guilt is taken away, and your sin atoned for." Isaiah 6:1-7

Bible-Reading Tips

Want to grow and mature in Christ? Read this list. Here are some bible-reading tips that will help you, no matter how mature you are in Christ or how new-born:

- Read your bible every day, obviously, because, as Jesus said in Matthew 4:4, "It is written: 'Man does not live on bread alone, but on every word that comes from the mouth of God." It's helpful for me to read my Bible specifically early in the morning: Charles Spurgeon and John Wesley practiced this method, as well as Ray Comfort. Daily reading of the Bible will inform your prayer life, order your thought life, equip you for ministry (1 Tim 3:17), build up your judgment for making wise decisions, help you to always know what God's will is (Proverbs 3:5-6), help your morality to know what's right to do given the present age, and train you in what the Holy Spirit is teaching you using life experiences for maturity (Hebrews 5:14).
